Renovations

BUILDER RUSS DAVIS

Renovations are not the most photogenic aspect of this website, but they can bring a lot of joy to someone who has been living in a nightmare.

Mackerel Beach Deck

Water access only site meant getting all materials to site via barge.
Demolish original deteriorated deck and replace with new larger one.

Access is by barge. The difficult part is getting everything across
the beach without getting bogged

The old deck was hiding decades of accumulated bottles. There
can be quite a bit of fascinating history buried in the layers.

Heritage Stone House Seaforth

Original sandstone house overlooking middle harbour

Glass railings and other modern materials transformed this
beautiful old sandstone house.

Red ironbark, secret nailed, nothing matches it for looks or hardness.

Heritage House Brooklyn

80 year old house in Brooklyn, roof had been leaking for decades. The entire house had to be gutted so only the original exterior remained. New roof added before interiors could be started.

We laid out the roofing iron on the lawn, made one long cut, and it all fitted!

Job finished well after sunset.

Bulldozer Job - Bayview

Best block on the street, worst house scenario

House bought as a bulldozer job, however basically OK so renovated instead.

Lifted the roof, replaced black slate floor with wood and put in aluminium windows and skylights with iconic slab door. The perfect entertainer.

Garage however was riddled with termites and had to be demolished.

The garage/workshop is now the perfect men's shed. The bi-fold doors allow the whole space to be opened.

Blue Mountains Charmer Katoomba

Original cypress timber clad two bedroom house riddled with termites.

Blue Mountains charmer had collapsed onto the ground and had to be lifted.

The extra room became the main family room

It worked out cheaper and faster to make our own trusses.
